PTE Scoring Process and Mechanism
According to Pearson, the PTE Academic exam is scored against the Global Scale of English – a granular score scale from 10–90. Pearson PTE uses an AI-based automated scoring system to evaluate your PTE test. It is based on complex algorithms that were trained by testing a data sample of over 10,000 students with over 120 native languages. They fed thousands of human marks into their system and then find that the standard error measurement between Pearson's system and a human rater is less than between one human rater to another. Understanding the PTE Score Report
Students receive a detailed picture of their language proficiency, covering their overall English score, as well as scores for individual sub-skills in PTE Academic Score Report / PTE Result.
PTE Academic score report shows:
- An overall score out of 90 (from 10-90): The overall score is not an average calculation of the communicative skills
scores.
- Communicative skills scores (for all 4 sections - Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing)
